Nirmala Mahila Samajam at a Glance
Nirmala Mahila Samajam salutes the foundress and the reformer of the Organization for their far sighted vision to fount the Organization. In the early years we had faced oppositions from every side but these years we get encouragement and support from every side which give immense joy and strength.
We try to empower the poor and the marginalized through awareness education, empowerment training, job oriented skill training, SHG forming, leadership training etc. The other steps and support services taken for development are providing self-empowerment in different fields, income generating programmers like cow, goat & pig raring, agricultural and poultry farming, petty shops, beauty centers, provide tailoring & embroidery machines to 175, help to start dress making units, provide uniform , Books & fees to poor students , woolen cloths to aged, sick and poor families, food and food kits to emergency situations. Reached out the poor satisfying their fundamental needs of housing, sanitation, drinking water, fuel insuffiency etc. We have six housing colonies provided land, houses with road, water and all other facilities- Chundakara Lourdu Matha colony, Pallikunnu Nirmala view, Eachome, Nayakam bady Nimala view houses and Pallikunnu colony with five families. Apart these we have constructed in different parts of Wayanad more than 1250 houses in their premises, repair & maintenance in 175 houses as well as sanitary latrines around 1750, common drink water wells 65, electricity in 1710 houses, smokeless oven in 1200 houses, a hand support to start again the stopped housing in different stages of 121 families, retain walls and concrete roads in seven colonies. Also distributed emergency lamps, gas cylinders, rice cookers, flasks, stoves, poultry cages, emergency & medical kits, food bags, dresses. We cared with love the orphans, widowers, poor and neglected in their different needs and wants, served the hungry with food and clothing, visited the sick and aged and met their medical needs and became their mother or servant or doctor where in need.

Rev.Fr.Tom Arackal
He was the Parish Priest of Lourds Church Pallikunnuduring 1987. He gave the push and input to face the trials and difficulties while we worked with the rural poor. Now he is the corporate manager of Diocesan schools. He stands as a patron and a Guru: he always encourage and support us. He helped in all the ways possible and he was our strengh and support.

Sr. Annie Verghese
Nirmala Mahila Samajam was a closed chapter by 1982. Seeing the pathetic life of village People Sr, Annie Varghese resigned her job and leaped into their life on 1987 and being one among them. “Fear not i am with you” These Jesus words echoing in her ears are her support and strengh.
With God l can do everything. lf God is with us, Who can against us ” . This is Sr.Annie Verghese, she walked and worked with God for His people with the support of Rev.Fr.Tom Arackal and her companions. She changed their life completely and mastered them with her simplicity and love. Under her efficient and dedicated leadership the Nirmala tree spread around and many came and rested under Nirmala Mahila Samajam.
She knows success depends upon God’s grace and the creative expression of our abilities and the depth and strength of our convictions.lf we are fearless and resolute all obstacles will melt away before us. Nirmala Mahila Samajam rentered exellent services in different fields of housing. Sanitation, Drinking water, Awareness, Education, Health, Hygine, Vocational Training. Self employment, Savings etc. We concentrate our special attention on empowerment of women.
